It took me weeks running the microsoft website's update client helper in the background just for it to finally update, as the win update itself was broken, and the repair functions built into the OS are also apparently broken, and recovery wasnt turned on until after the problem. Its just a black screen of death, and it seemingly triggers randomly during specific games, but not others, with little to no link between them, be it massive demanding open world games from AAA studios, or a 2D scroller that could run on win xp, and then some games dont cause it to happen at all, sometimes it triggers right after starting up, sometimes it can take 30 minutes, sometimes an hour, sometimes a game will cause it to happen or not at all. If I only knew what was wrong, or if there was any consistency between the crashes, I could fix it beyond just re-installing the entire OS. Many months spent trying to fix this & hours spent watching tutorials on youtube and reading forum posts on the microsoft forums & various other sites. Yes, I have done sfc /scannow, and run many repair troubleshooters ect.
